2020: Freedom and a Biblical Values Under Massive Attack:

 In his Christmas Day video message Rudy Giuliani stated that:

“… As we look back on this year of 2020 it's been a very bad year for human rights or God-given rights - they've been eroded dramatically in the country that didn't create them but probably enshrined them better than any country in the history of the world, the United States of America.

There's never been a year in American history where there's been such an all-out assault on:

·         freedom of speech,

·         freedom of religion,

·         free and fair elections,

·         the ability to congregate for causes that you believe in, and

·         your ability to conduct your life with some degree of judgment by yourself without the government dictating to you every little detail of it.

These are enormous intrusions into a country of civil liberties and civil rights, human rights and God-given rights … “

Where did Rudy get the idea that these values and rights are ‘God-given’?

Both the historians Prof. Paul Johnson in his seminal ‘A History of the Jews’ and Rabbi Ken Spiro in his ‘Crash Course in Jewish History’ explain how all these values and rights extend out of an understanding and belief in Monotheism, in the belief in One God.

Spiro explains:

“Monotheism is the most revolutionary idea that the Jewish people brought to the world. Ethical Monotheism, the belief in one God who is the Creator of the Universe, the Father of all humanity, and the source for one absolute standard of morality, is the single greatest contribution to civilization in the history of mankind.

There is universal agreement that there are six values fundamental to building a perfect world. They are:

1) Value of Life – People have the right to life, and to live with a certain basic dignity and rights.

2) World Peace – On all levels, communally and globally, people and nations should co-exist in peace and harmony, with mutual respect.

3) Justice and Equality – All people, regardless of race, gender or social status, have the right to be treated equally and fairly in the eyes of the law.

4) Education – Everyone has the right to be functionally literate as a basic tool for personal advancement and the ability to attain knowledge.

5) Family – A strong, stable family structure is necessary for the foundation for society.

6) Social Responsibility – Individually and nationally, we are responsible for each other. This includes responsibility for: disease, poverty and crime, as well as environmental preservation and animal rights.”

Rabbi Spiro also gives evidence that illustrates how these values were enshrined in the US Constitution as Rudy Giuliani notes:

“Ethical Monotheism has changed the world. John Adams, second president of the U.S., wrote:

I will insist the Hebrews have [contributed] more to civilize men than any other nation. If I was an atheist and believed in blind eternal fate, I should still believe that fate had ordained the Jews to be the most essential instrument for civilizing the nations... They are the most glorious nation that ever inhabited this Earth. The Romans and their empire were but a bubble in comparison to the Jews. They have given religion to three-quarters of the globe and have influenced the affairs of mankind more and more happily than any other nation, ancient or modern. (John Adams, letter to F. A. Van der Kemp, 1808, Pennsylvania Historical Society)

Jewish values have further spread through the growth of liberal democracy over the last 200 years. The shapers of British democracy and the Founding Fathers of America constantly turned to the Bible as a source of inspiration and values.

The U.S. Declaration of Independence states:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that amongst these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The basis for democratic government, basic rights and values, is the concept of One God…”.

It would have been difficult to live in the Western World in 2020 and not notice the dramatic events of this year, but if you have only watched the MSM and not sought out alternative news sources you are not very likely to be aware of how true this statement of Giuliani’s is.

While the USA may have been the centre of this great erosion in biblical values and rights, anyone with a critical mind living in Australia or New Zealand for example, and especially the State of Victoria in Australia would have also seen all these foundational human rights that have come out of ethical monotheism, being more and more eroded on a daily basis.

So this great assault on Biblical rights and values and the potential ‘Great Reset’ is still ongoing as we enter 2021.

What will the New Year bring? 

Clearly if nothing happens to halt this erosion we can expect to see the USA descend in the horror and chaos that is Venezuela (after 20 years of Socialist rule). If this happens, because of the position of the USA as the leader of the ‘free world’ and the growing strength of China, the leader in all forms of Communism such as Socialism and Fascism, it is likely that the USA would fall much faster than Venezuela did and that such a catastrophe would also befall the rest of the free world.

 Can this great slide into the horror and certain failures of Socialism be halted?

Hopefully and possibly – for example on January 6th in the USA we may see a dramatic turnaround.
