Is Truth being buried?

It seems to be an increasingly common occurrence that my days end so often now with some degree of sadness, exasperation, incredulity and disappointment.

These days, when I sit down after a long days work to check the news online and log into a number of social media sites and groups to see the latest updates from friends and foes, I am shocked and saddened by the massive degree of ignorance; of the spreading of falsehoods and shamefully mis-informed narratives; of fake news and deliberate and derogatory attacks on many innocent people (through ‘doxing’ for example).

There is a great deal of ‘lashon hara’ (‘evil tongue’) abounding in the online world today (Lashon Hara is any means of communicating derogatory or damaging information about a person or groups of persons). It is a clear violation of  Leviticus 19:18, “V’ahavta l’rei’echa kamocha” – Love your neighbour as yourself (which is essentially a summary of the 2^nd Tablet of the 10 Words).

Fortunately, my online world also has a number of kindred spirits who though they are scattered about this world in such diverse places as South Africa, Switzerland, the USA, PNG, NZ and Australia, their faith, love of truth and compassion continue to bring me comfort and inspiration.

They at least help lift me up and help remind me of Who will be the Ultimate Winner in this increasingly dark and sinister battle that wages first in the virtual ‘public square’ that is the online world, and it seems is then increasingly played in the real ‘public square’ of shopping malls and festivals.

Having been in a number of ‘public affairs’ battles over many years from the fight to end Abortion, to the fight to stand in the gap for Israel and the Jewish people, I am used to the tricks people use with semantics (for example, calling the murder of the unborn a ‘termination of pregnancy’); to the blatant lies of the Main Stream Media (MSM) which I have commented on before (see here, and here for example), but the rhetoric, the screaming lies and devious mis-information campaigns of the MSM and all their leftist housemates seems to continue to grow more shrill and more blatantly hateful.

For example, calling everyone they don’t agree with racists and, most ridiculously, calling those on the right of politics (i.e conservatives) ‘fascists’, as Fascism is a form of socialism and very much a left-wing ideology. 

Isaiah 5:20 continually rings in my ears.

One of the increasingly disturbing impacts of all these leftist lies is how much our children are being indoctrinated with it through our very left-leaning educational institutions.

And thanks to the leftist’s control of the ‘public square’ that is Social Media, the voices of conservatives and non-progressives are increasingly being so totally silenced that the general public and especially the young entering the adult world are no longer hearing a diverse range of thoughts and understanding.

Thus it is becoming very hard for them to be able to exert any sort of discernment and to hear all the evidence and weigh the full range of perspectives.

Truth, Morality, Ethics, and a theistic world-view are disappearing at an alarming rate.
