Excerpt from Theology of Jewish-Christian Relations" by Prof. David Flusser

The tendency of modern scholarship to take anti-Jewish positions is on
the rise.

The so-called demythologization of the Gospels means its
de-Judaization, as well.

The modern trend in Christianity is to sever its ties with the biblical message.

Such “modern” Christians adore false “spirituality.” At the same time, by abandoning the moral teachings of the Bible, these Christians adhere to a false pseudo-concrete, irreligious admiration for sinners and the
preaching of non-violence (the preaching of “loving sinners” and non-violence is wrong).

They sympathize with the irresponsible and criminal violence of others — and this is often called the true Christian social attitude. These false Christians prefer pagans and atheists to sincere Christians, and, naturally, to Jews.

The moral ideals of sincere Christians and Jews are referred to as retrograde, particularistic and nationalistic. Abraham’s “Faith” is often despised, and the return of the Jews to their own land, given to them by God himself, is seen as an aberration rather than as miraculous proof of the veracity of the Bible.

On the other hand, more and more simple Christians are waking up. Is this the division of spirits about which Jesus spoke? Is this the time of the Great Apostasy?

One thing seems clear to me: if one is to save his soul, and perhaps his life, too, now is the time of decision!

Today, the touchstone for Christians is their support or lack of support for the people of Israel and for their biblically based right of return to their ancestral land. .

 By Prof. David Flusser

Flusser also said: "Jesus was a Jew who spoke to other Jews. Therefore without a doubt, Jesus and his message belong within the framework of the Judaism of his time: it is an inseparable part of it." and he expressed the dream that the veil will drop from the eyes of Christians and Jews and they will begin to recognize each other as brothers and sisters.

May it be so!
Yeshua, after all is the Messiah of Israel!
May those of us who are the 'adopted sons of Israel' learn from our Jewish brethren.
